The Management Information System is proposed to meet the practical management requirements of power plant.Constructing a integrated Management Information System that focuses on practical production, operation, and management facilitates the integration of business and resources, which realizes the integrated management of such processes as the real-time data monitoring during the production, asset maintenance, operation scheduling, security and environment monitoring, spare part reservation and consumption, etc., as depicted in Figure 1.

Through the construction and application of Management Information System: information isolation within the company is eliminated; Information is ensured to effectively and efficiently transmitted; Business models and internal resource configurations are optimized. These advantages greatly facilitate enhancing management, standardizing work processes, increasing efficiency, implementing cost control, and improving the ability of the company to make scientific decisions.

1)        In daily management, information technology is employed to increase the efficiency and level of production and operations, equipment maintenance, and daily management decision making, to standardize management behavior.

2)        In operation management, real-time data within the production are monitored and captured to calculate and analyze the efficiency and cost in unit operations.

3)        In equipment management, static and dynamic records are established to form a equipment management knowledge library (including failure, maintenance, and spare parts), which standardize the management of equipment asset repair and pre-protected maintenance.

4)        In inventory management, convenient material deployment is enabled, to reduce inventory occupation, increase capital turnover, and reduce capital occupation.

5)        In safety management, the status of production safety, environment protection, sources of danger are monitored to improve the timeliness to safety management and supervision.

In office efficiency, a unified management information platform for collaborative working is implemented to increase the speed and accuracy of information transmission.



Business functionalities of the application system are based on the construction of an integrated application development platform. The platform adopts the B/S architecture and employs graphical components as the basic element of the application system, which enables building the application system in a quick and high-quality manner. Meanwhile, it also enables strong responsive ability when requirements change and the constant accumulation of software knowledge through component accumulation.

The platform realizes business-oriented and driven software development, which fundamentally resolves many difficult problems in the development of management software. Enterprise information system thus genuinely realizes the informationization strategy that is majorly controlled by users, variable with requirements, globally planned, and overall integrated. The platform participates all the life-cycle including the design, development, debugging, deployment, operation, maintenance, monitoring, and control, etc., as shown in Figure 2.

6Providing built-in advanced report designer, achieving low-cost business information statistical analysis, relational query, and analysis report generation, reflecting the business value of information anytime and anywhere.

7Providing graphical form designer user interface, highly customizable, convenient for users to improve the program.

8Providing graphical workflow designer user interface, convenient for users to flexibly configuring workflows and calmly responding to the needs of business process reengineering.
